Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal

                                                     

                                                              

                                                      

There were twenty-one designated Asiatic-Pacific Theater campaigns during World War II. Individuals are entitled to wear one bronze star for each campaign they participated in. A bronze arrowhead is worn on the ribbon to indicate participation in an amphibious assault landing within the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.

The 12th Cavalry Regiment participated in four Asiatic-Pacific campaigns.

·         New Guinea                         January 23, 1943 to December 31, 1944

·         Bismarck Archipelago               December 15, 1943 to November 27, 1944

·         Leyte                                        October 17, 1944 to July 1, 1945

·         Luzon                                    December 15, 1944 to July 4, 1945
